What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical known as a cannabinoid, found within plants of the Cannabis genus, and most commonly from hemp. Hemp has a long history of use in various products all over the world, and given its high concentration of CBD (and naturally low levels of THC) it’s an ideal source plant for CBD. CBD is a versatile compound, and has been included in tinctures, edibles, lotions, bath bombs, and more.
What is Cannabigerol (CBG)?
Cannabigerol (CBG) is a hemp-derived cannabinoid that’s instrumental in the production of CBD. CBGa (Cannabigerolic Acid) is found naturally in hemp, and when specific enzymes, as well as ultraviolet light or heat, interact with it, CBGa is converted to the cannabinoids that you know best. It is often cited as the ‘mother’ cannabinoid to many well-known compounds including CBD, CBC, and THC. CBG combines the health-supporting benefits of CBD with an increased bioavailability for maximum effectiveness, including assisting with your Endocannabinoid System and helping to maintain your overall wellness.
What is the Difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
While both hemp and marijuana are part of the Cannabis genus, being different strains of the Cannabis Sativa plant, they differ in terms of use and their cannabinoid profiles. Hemp, also known as industrial hemp, has naturally high levels of CBD and low levels of THC. When grown by a licensed grower and containing no more than 0.3% THC content, hemp is considered federally legal as a source for CBD products. In contrast, marijuana has naturally higher levels of THC, and relatively low levels of CBD. THC is a psychoactive chemical, and is what gives the ‘high’ that marijuana users report experiencing. Federally legal hemp won’t get you high thanks to its negligible levels of THC.
IS CBD Legal?
CBD’s legality still exists in a kind of limbo, depending on the state and area you live in. The 2018 Farm Bill opened up Hemp and CBD like never before, removing hemp and CBD from the list of controlled substances. Although the Food and Drug Administration does not currently recognize cannabidiol as suitable for food products or as a supplement, it continues to investigate CBD for the role it can serve for consumers in the future. Be sure to check your local laws and regulations.
Will THC show up on a drug test?
Products that use CBD Isolate generally do not contain THC or other cannabinoids, while our Full Spectrum CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC content, the federal legal limit for hemp and CBD products. Broad Spectrum CBD products are similar to Full Spectrum CBD, but generally will not have THC.
What is CBD Isolate?
CBD isolate is a highly processed form of CBD, usually containing up 99% pure cannabidiol. For individuals looking for a CBD experience free from other cannabinoids, CBD Isolate is an ideal choice.
What is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full Spectrum CBD is an extract that contains many, or even all, of the natural cannabinoids of the hemp plant. In addition, a full spectrum extract may also contain the terpenes, vitamins, minerals, and other natural components of the hemp plant. While Full Spectrum CBD may contain THC, when grown and processed correctly it is only present in trace amounts. At Sun State Hemp, all our CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC content, which is not enough to experience a “high”.
